Goa Gajah

Back in Indonesia. Hopefully this time in a more beautiful environment then last year when I visited Batam Island on the Riau Archipel.

I flew from Chiang Rai to Bangkok and further to Denpasar in Bali. I started in Ubud, which is located in the middle of the island. It is the city of arts and handcrafts.

First trip to Goa Gajah, the elephant cave. This sanctuary is added to the UNESCO World Herritage in 1995. There are reliefs at the stones of the entrance to the cave and the primary figure should be an elephant.

The bathing temple.

Ganesha

The water of the pond seems not to be very healthy.

A lush garden.

Fallen Stones, looks like a ruin.

Inscriptions on the backside of the stones.

What amazing roots.....

Everywhere in Bali - the offerings
